FRAUD ALERT: We are aware of a scam in which fraudsters have been calling our members claiming to be from SCU Credit Union. Scammers can “spoof” the name and number on a phone call or text message in the hopes that you will answer. As a reminder: SCU Credit Union will never contact you and request information like PIN, account numbers, Social Security Numbers and online banking passwords. You should not give out or confirm any of this information unless YOU initiated the phone call. Use caution if you are being pressured for information immediately or if there is a sense of urgency.

Preventing Account Fraud

To Our Valued Members,

As a SCU Credit Union member, your security is a top priority of ours. Our goal is to minimize your exposure to risk and the impact of any fraudulent activity on your credit union accounts. Please review the following information to help prevent fraud on your account:

  • SCU Credit Union will never call, text or email you and ask for your Online Banking credentials or a Secure Access Code (SAC).
  • Be cautious of any communications that request you to verify personal information, such as login credentials or account details.
  • Read these tips on how to avoid phishing scams
  • If you have an SCU Debit Mastercard®, review how EnFact Fraud Detection works and how you can confirm a text or call is really from our Fraud Detection Center.
