SCU Credit Union (Sharon & Crescent United Credit Union) was formed in 2020 through the merger of Sharon Credit Union and Crescent Credit Union. Both credit unions were founded by individuals who relied on each other, invested in a cooperative endeavor, and, in doing so, invested in each other's future. The shares and deposits of the Credit Union in excess of NCUA limits are fully insured by the Massachusetts Credit Union Share Insurance Corporation (MSIC).

Membership in SCU Credit Union is open to persons who:
1. live, work, attend school, college or university, or have a usual place of business in
2. are family members of eligible persons, regardless of location.
Membership-related terms:
Family member: a spouse, child, brother, sister, parent, grandchild, grandparent, stepchild, stepbrother, stepsister, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, or cousin of a member.
School, college, or university: a postsecondary education organization accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education, excluding any organization that offers instruction exclusively via the internet or otherwise does not instruct students at a location within a city, town or county listed above.
Attend: enrolled in one or more courses of study held at a location of such a school, college or university.
Organization member means any fraternal organization, voluntary association, partnership or corporation, having a usual place of business within the commonwealth and composed principally of individual members or stockholders who are themselves eligible to membership in a credit union or the Central Credit Union Fund, Inc.
