Because debit fraud is serious business, we’re watching out for you.
You may not know it, but you have round-the-clock protection against the increasingly savvy perpetrators of debit card fraud. That’s because the debit cards we issue are protected by FraudWatch® PLUS.
Through an important partner of ours, we provide industry leading technology, tools and the expertise to manage fraud. Experienced fraud analysts work around the clock, watching for any suspicious card activity and will contact you immediately if they detect potential fraud on your card. So, if you ever get a call from “Fraud Prevention Services”, know that our watchdogs are doing their job and preventing potential fraudulent use of your card.
NOTE: A call from Fraud Prevention Services will come from a non-local area code. These days, we all are often reluctant to answer phone calls from numbers we do not recognize. However, a call from a Fraud Prevention Specialist, alerting you to possible fraud associated with your debit card, is an important call to follow up on. If you do not answer, or are not available to answer this call, a message will be left asking you to call back. A toll-free number will be provided for the call-back. If you are still unsure about the source of the call, please feel free to contact the Credit Union at 781-784-7725. We can confirm whether or not Fraud Watch Services has been trying to contact you.
Fraud is serious business, and can hit anytime. That is why we are always on guard to detect and prevent fraud from happening to you.
MasterCard® SecureCode gives you added security for your online debit card purchases. With MasterCard® SecureCode, at the end of each online purchase from a participating retailer, you “sign” a receipt with your private SecureCode. Until recently, SecureCode has been an optional security enhancement.
Effective, August 13, 2014, SecureCode will be mandatory when making purchases online from a participating retailer. You may register a code at the time of your first purchase from a participating retailer, or you can register now.
Debit Card Phone Scam
Beware of scammers that call claiming to be from your financial institution asking you to verify debit card information. Be advised that Sharon Credit Union will never ask you for debit card information or other sensitive personal information over the phone or through email.
