Conventional and Jumbo Mortgage Loan Limits
Most mortgages today are underwritten to adhere to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac conforming loan guidelines. Included in the guidelines are maximum loan limits, otherwise known as conventional loan limits. Loans that exceed those limits are classified as "jumbo", which have their own minimum and maximum limits.
